My style of painting can loosely be described as impressionistic - I like the time honored description of impressionism - “the placement of single strokes of paint that are the right color, the right shape, and placed in the right spot.” - and this is what I strive for when painting. |

I work both on location, and in the studio, depending on the intent of the
piece. I paint scenes and settings that inspire me, and although the
majority of my paintings are landscapes, I also enjoy painting parks, gardens,
and architectural subjects.

Steve Roselles is a native of South Dakota and grew up in the gold mining
town of Lead. He has two grown children, Eric, 36 and Carmen, 33.
He has worked as a gold miner, truck driver, musician, draftsman, illustrator, and as a computer digitizer for the commercial embroidery industry. Steve is self-taught and has developed a unique style of painting using a palette knife for the majority of each of his pieces. |
